Mathew Mather
Mathew Mather is a lecturer, writer and researcher in the Department of Fine Art and Education at Limerick School of Art and Design, Technological University of the Shannon, in Ireland. He is author of The Alchemical Mercurius: Esoteric Symbol of Jung’s Life and Works, based on a PhD on Jung and alchemy, and has also authored a number of book chapters and articles. He is director of the MA in Art, Psyche and the Creative Imagination and the Certificate in Jungian Psychology with Art Therapy. His professional interests include the intersection of depth psychology with the arts, Jung’s mature work (with emphasis on alchemy and synchronicity), as well as his Black Books and Red Book or Liber Novas.
In his spare time Mathew enjoys family, reading, nature, the arts, environment, Tai Chi, cooking, and friends. He has two lovely daughters Katie and Karla, and lives with his wife Lyn and cat Munks, next to the Shannon river in Limerick. This current work is a first attempt in the style of a non-fiction magical journey, and as a form of memoir.
