About the Author

Renowned for inspiring C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and for mentoring Lewis Carroll, George MacDonald (1824 -1905) was a Scottish minister better known for his haunting fairy tales. The nephew of a famous Celtic linguist and folklore collector, he wrote his first novel, Phantastes, at the age of 24.
